PET bottles recycling.

Pet bottles recycling is what everybody wants to go in.
Fine

Before doing this you should consider what follows:

Your source of scraps
If bottles are already sorted by colour
If bottles are PVC free (this never happens)
If scrap bottles contain more than 10% of ex edible oil bottles
If PET bottles have PVC or PS labels
If bales of scraps can contain also PS trays (very common) aluminum cans, cloth, stones etc.

According with what you have, you better think to sorting first that is the most difficult part of the system, together with water treatment.

This means that bottles going to granulator, MUST be only PET bottles, with all the dirt you want, don't matter much, but absolutely 100% PET (99,999 is not enough !)

Sorting comes to be also the most expensive part of the system if you want to go with automatic sorting devices and, if you live in a country where man power is cheap, it will be expensive as well because you'll need lots of people to get the job done the proper way.

When it goes to washing, we did engineer some special machinery for this particular purpose we are very proud of, to give you the lower cost ratio between energy and throughput.

As for starting, we do not use any steam, or heaters to make water hot but we do use hot water, that's actually the only way to get the glue removed.

Water circuit is another big issue; if properly done, water consumption will be low.
Water should go backwards, meaning fresh water used for rinsing should be used in all steps of the process till it collects all dirt before going to a set of mechanical filters first and to water treatment last .

Few words about Bottle to Bottle systems.

As you may know, to get the FDA approval, not only washing is required; you should go a couple of steps further meaning Pelletizing and Solid State Polycondensation.

And here the matter gets highly technical.

We'll not go in details with this but only tell you that the matter is pretty complicated and requires a deep knoweledge of mechanical, chemical and plastic processing.

And people that's already in the PET bottles recycling business know what we are talking about.
